One record from request to payment

Control rarely fails inside a step. It fails at the handover, when information has to move from one person or system to the next. The FinOps platform keeps one record per transaction, from request to payment, so what one step records the next one can see.

Webexpenses Purchase Orders and Contract Management put control before the commitment. Webexpenses Accounts Payable captures and matches invoices as they arrive. Webexpenses Budgets measures every commitment against the right budget before it's approved.

How the score works

Each statement scores 0 for no, 1 for partly and 2 for yes, for a total out of 30. The 15 statements are grouped into five stages of three, each scored out of 6. Overall bands: 0 to 12, gaps at most handovers; 13 to 22, strong in places; 23 to 30, well controlled. Where two stages score the same, we suggest starting with the earlier one, because control before the commitment does the most good. The score is a self-assessment, not a benchmark against other businesses, and depends on the answers you give.
